On Thursday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of Yeti’s Sidekick dry gear case, M20 soft backpack cooler, and M30 soft cooler, versions 1.0 and 2.0.

The affected products are being recalled due to the magnet-lined closure which can fail and detach, which poses “a risk of serious injury or death if ingested,” the U.S. Product Safety Commission said in a statement Thursday.
The CPSC said that when two or more of the magnets get detached from the product and are ingested, they can attract to each other or another metal object and become lodged in the digestive tract, which could cause perforations, twisting, and or blockage of the intestine, infection, blood poisoning, and even death.
The products were sold at places such as Dick’s sporting goods, Ace Hardware, Academy Sports and Outdoors, Yeti, and other stores, including Amazon. The firm has received 1,399 reports of magnet-lined closure failures due to degrading or other reasons, and missing or detached magnets. No magnet ingestions or injuries have been reported as of yet.
