While fans at TD Garden in Boston and others watching around the country were looking forward to the game between the Boston Bruins and Nashville Predators, a more important moment came before puck drop. The Bruins and Predators came together before Tuesday night’s game to honor and grieve the victims of the Covenant School shooting with a moment of silence.

“I know we’re playing Nashville tonight, and the Bruins and myself [offer] our deepest sympathies to the families and friends affected by the unfortunate shooting — again — yesterday in Nashville,” B’s head coach Jim Montgomery told reporters after Boston’s morning skate.

On top of the moment of silence before puck drop, the Bruins and Predators both wore decals with the Covenant School insignia during the game to honor the six victims of the shooting. The Boston Bruins foundation also donated $10,000 to the Nashville Predators Foundation to help support their efforts in helping the families affected by the tragedy.
