Pharrell Williams makes Louis Vuitton debut

Pharrell Williams debuted his first Louis Vuitton collection on Tuesday at the brand’s Menswear Spring-Summer 2024 show in Paris. This was Williams’ first collection since he was appointed as Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director in February.
The runway show took place on Pont Neuf, the oldest standing bridge in Paris. The bridge was transformed into a golden runway for models to display Williams’ new collection.
The collection featured Williams’ own reinvention of the brand’s iconic Damier. His pixelated reimagination of the classic checkerboard design was seen on jackets, suits, trunks, Speedy bags and backpacks.
Also seen on the runway were leather jerseys, rugby shirts, leather moto jackets, trench coats, and accessories in the signature Damier print. Williams displayed the pattern in yellow, deep navy and burgundy colors as a nod to Canal Street in New York City.
Embroidered designs by artist Henry Taylor were seen on denim and Varsity jackets. Taylor combined the LV logo with the word lovers. The show notes said, “LVERS is a state of mind: warmth, wellbeing, and welcome-ness”.
Williams even incorporated his own red carpet style into his debut show with looks featuring tailored shorts, matching jackets, tube socks and black loafers.
The debut show was a star-studded event with Williams’ celebrity friends filling the rows. Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Zendaya, Naomi Campbell, Megan Thee Stallion and Lewis Hamilton were among those in attendance. Beyonce and Jay-Z were also seen in the front row, and Jay-Z performed at the after-party.
Williams was embraced by his wife and four sons on the runway after the show concluded.
