The Boston Bruins snapped a four-game losing streak after a thrilling shootout win over the
Dallas Stars on Monday night.
Led by SO goals from Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy, the Bruins put on a show at TD
Garden to close out their seven-game homestand. Boston and Dallas battled all night, going back
and forth in the first three quarters of regulation, before carrying the dogfight into overtime and a
SO.
Monday night’s win was truly a team affair for the Bruins, as they got some help with goals from
Jesper Boqvist, David Pastrnak, and Justin Brazeau, who scored his first NHL goal in his first
NHL game Monday evening.
After dropping four games, this much-needed win was a morale booster for the team. Bruins
head coach, Jim Montgomery praised the team’s efforts after tying the game with a little less than two minutes left in the third quarter, stating, “Our great players made great plays at a time when we needed to tie the game.”
The game boosted Boston up in the Eastern Conference rankings, as they now lead the Atlantic
Division with a record of 33-12-11 after sneaking past the Florida Panthers. The Bruins are now
looking toward a four-game road trip, starting with a pit stop in Edmonton to take on Connor
McDavid and the Oilers.
