A bus crash in Lowell has left three individuals hospitalized. The cause of the crash, which occurred around 9 a.m. on Monday, has yet to be determined. Authorities are currently investigating the cause, Lieutenant Tim Kilbride from the Lowell Police Department told The Boston Globe.
The crash transpired between a small, yellow school bus carrying the driver and bus monitor, and a Honda Civic with only the driver in the vehicle. The Civic received damage to the front of the vehicle, and the force of the crash caused the school bus to flip onto its side. The crash occurred at the intersection of Nesmith and Andover streets in Lowell.
The driver and passenger on the bus were sent to the hospital for medical evaluation, and Lowell Public Schools confirmed they were the only two on the bus at the time of the crash. No children were present. The driver of the Civic is currently hospitalized and being treated for injuries sustained.
