Yankees Fans Ejected for Interfering with Mookie Betts in World Series Game

Two Yankees supporters were ejected from Yankee Stadium during Game 4 of the World Series on
October 29. The scene consisted of the star outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Mookie Betts, attempting to catch a foul ball that was hit down the right-field line in the top of the first inning.
With the help of another fan gripping his wrist, a New York fan attempted to take the ball out of Betts’ glove, after he had caught it. The officiating staff acted quickly, which interfered with the play as well. Right field officer Mark Carlson promptly ruled the Yankees’ Gleyber Torres out for play fan interference.
The fan’s bizarre intervention caused everyone in the stadium to raise eyebrows, even though Betts managed to make the difficult catch.
Both fans were taken from their seats by stadium security immediately after the incident for interfering with the play and the game’s integrity.
