Ongoing hip injury leaves Jaylen Brown out of game Saturday

Jaylen Brown is reportedly getting a second MRI on his hip after the first revealed fluid in the area. During Friday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets, Brown tweaked his hip in the third quarter.

Brown’s first MRI was while he was in training camp and his injury has been an ongoing issue. The Boston Celtics were able to pull out back-to-back wins against the Hornets despite Brown being out of the game Saturday.

Brown played for 37 minutes of the game Friday and scored 25 points.

Brown has never missed more than 15 games in a season and played in 70 games last season. This year Brown has been averaging 25.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

The Celtics also have Kristaps Porzingis out recovering from surgery but are looking at a possible return in December. The Celtics take on the Atlanta Hawks Monday with a record of 6-1 for the new season.
