Donald Trump might remove fluoride from drinking water if elected President

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent Trump endorser, has been made promises that he’ll be put in charge of health initiatives if the Trump administration wins the presidential election. On Saturday, RFK Jr. made claims that Trump would remove fluoride from drinking water on his first day in office, if elected.

“On Jan. 20, the Trump White House will advise all U.S. water systems to remove fluoride from public water,” Kennedy wrote to X.

Low levels of fluoride have been considered one of the greatest public health initiatives in the last century, as it “strengthens teeth and reduces cavities by replacing minerals lost during normal wear and tear, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

Trump told NBC news that he had not spoken to RFK Jr. about fluoride, but his proposal “sounds OK to me. You know it’s possible.”

There are other health administration issues on the table. Kennedy told NewsNation that Trump asked him to “reorganize” the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration and some agencies under the Department of Agriculture.

Trump also said there are discussions to be had with Kennedy and others about whether or not to ban certain vaccines.

Trump has made clear that RFK Jr. will have a role in his potential administration.
