President-elect Donald J. Trump named Susie Wiles, manager of Trump’s campaign, as his White House chief of staff yesterday. She is the first woman to hold this influential role.

Wiles is known for running his campaign and previously was the leading individual for the position. Wiles avoided the spotlight during the campaign, refusing to speak during Trump’s celebratory win early Wednesday morning.

Wiles is also known for helping to “control Trump’s worst impulses” through her advice, according to Boston.com.

According to a statement made by Trump, she is “tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected.

During his first administration, Trump went through four chiefs of staff, setting a record in that regard.
