Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos, gets her ring

During Wednesday night’s season finale of the “Golden Bachelorette” contestant Chock Chapple got down on one knee and proposed to Joan Vassos with a 4-carat ring.
As per the franchise tradition, the ring was custom by celebrity jeweler Neil Lane. It has an emerald cut center stone, with two elongated diamonds on the side, and 56 smaller diamonds placed around the basket of the platinum ring.
Lane told People Magazine, “This ring’s show-stopping beauty perfectly encapsulates Joan’s journey as the first-ever Golden Bachelorette and I wish her and Chock nothing but the best as they move into the next phase of their relationship together.”
He said he was inspired by the Art Deco style but also wanted it to be sophisticated and elegant like Vassos.
According to Lane, Chapple knew the ring was the one when he saw it for the first time.
“I think he understood the vibrations and the energy that went into that ring,” said Lane.
Vassos and Chapple had a connection from the start and they went on the first one-on-one date of the season together.
“We are living proof that no matter what life throws at you, there is still hope, even at our age,” said Vassos.
