A New Era For The Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates haven’t seen a winning season in over a decade. But, manager Clint Hurdle is no stranger to rebuilding a team that’s struggling. Four years ago Hurdle led Colorado to its first National League pennant in franchise history. The Rockies went on to play in the World Series that season but lost to the Boston Red Sox. Also that year, the team compiled the highest single-season fielding percentage in Major League history. Hurdle’s efforts in Colorado earned him a third place spot for the National League Manager-of-the-Year award.
Veterans Give Hope To Orioles

They haven’t made the playoffs since 1997. They haven’t been to a World Series since 1983. Still, there is hope for the Baltimore Orioles. Just one season removed from spending most of last year at the bottom of the American League East, Baltimore now has a roster that can compete in its division.
USA Sled Hockey Returns to Top of Paralympic Podium
By Stephanie Greenland — Team USA has captured gold in Paralympic sled hockey. The U.S. did it by defeating Japan 2-0 in Vancouver yesterday. Alexi Salamone drove the puck home despite heavy traffic in front of the net with 10:50 remaining in the first period.
