The Only Thing Missing From These Games Is….SNOW!

By Brandon Penny — 02/07/10
The Olympics are just days away…and snow is nowhere in sight. Athletes have been arriving in Vancouver, Canada to 50-degree weather. Vancouver natives are referring to these Olympics as “The Brown Games,” because of muddy conditions. The biggest concern for organizers is Cypress Mountain, which will host the snowboarding and freestyle skiing events. Over the past few weeks, helicopters and trucks have been delivering snow to the mountain. The snowboard halfpipe will be made of wooden forms and bails of hay. This week these solutions will be put to the test when training sessions begin on Cypress.
