Rob Gronkowski’s Super Bowl fate is still unknown.
Today the powerhouse New England Patriots’ tight-end said he is taking his ankle injury one day at a time.
“We take strides day by day. I’m anxious obviously to get out there,” said Gronkowski. “Obviously I want to be out there with the team.”
Two weeks ago Gronkowski sprained his high ankle during the AFC Championship game.He has said he will need surgery during the off-season. Playing time for the fan-favorite tight end in Sunday’s Super Bowl is still unknown.
Although he has not practiced with the team since his injury, Gronkowski said he has been working hard with his trainers.
Gronkowski is cautiously optimistic at the thought of suiting up for Sunday’s big game. When asked if he could see himself on the sidelines for the biggest game of his career, he responded with a solemn “Yes.”
Following suit of renowned tight-lipped head coach Bill Belichick, Gronkowski was careful not to say anything more about the status of his injury.
