Sox and Blue Jays End in a Draw
By Samantha Russo — 3/7/12
The Red Sox didn’t win today, but they remain undefeated in Grapefruit League play. After nine innings, the game between the Red Sox and Blue Jays ended with a pair of threes.
This afternoon the Sox took on the Toronto Blue Jays in their fourth Spring Training game. Boston put the first run up on the board in the third inning with a sacrifice fly from outfielder Ryan Sweeney.
Toronto quickly answered. Edwin Encarnacion hit a single to left-field that drove in two runs. On the same play Cody Ross failed to play the ball cleanly in the outfield and allowed Kelly Johnson to score from first.
It was an error on Toronto’s side that helped the Red Sox get two more runs to tie.
Tomorrow afternoon Boston continues play against the World Series champs St. Louis Cardinals
