New Types of Terrorism on the Rise

Terrorism is evolving.

House and Senate Intelligence committee leaders Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein and Republican Representative Mike Rogers told CNN that the threat of terrorism continues to grow as new technologies emerge.

Terrorist’s weapons are much more sophisticated. Some groups even have the technical knowledge to make bombs that can go through metal detectors. The global increase of terrorist-related deaths may one of the reasons why the United States could be in danger as well as the fact that terrorist groups are not planning large events anymore.

“They’ve now switched to this notion that smaller events are okay,” Rogers said.

Preventing them may be harder than ever for US intelligence.
