Imperfect weather is no match for a gold medal champion.

David Wise, from Reno, Nevada, overcame thick fog and slippery conditions to take home the men’s half pipe on Tuesday. The twenty-three year old from Reno, Nevada scored a 92 on his first run and didn’t look back as he overcame stiff competition from competitors like American teammate Aaron Blunk and Frenchman Benoit Valentin.

Wise told reporters afterwards that he was most excited his young daughter, Nayeli, was in the audience to see him compete. Mike Riddle won silver for Canada, while Kevin Rolland took bronze for France.

The Olympics end this Sunday, February twenty-third.
