Patriots are Happy to be Getting Back to Football

By Jeremy Vandroff

The New England Patriots are trying to get back to business. Speaking with the media, several players expressed relief to finally hit the practice field rather than take part in promotional events and travel.

“It was awesome, It felt good to get back out there again” said running back Shane Vereen.

“Kinda get rolling, refocus yourself on the game plan, so it was good.”

Rather than talk about the matchup with the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX, the team has been fending off accusations that they inflated football’s beneath minimum league requirements before the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. Bill Belichick has played scientist trying to explain the issue away, and the shock jocks on radio row have enough fodder to last a lifetime. Holding team practice in Arizona has taken the team back to the business of football.

Pats linebacker Rob Ninkovich was feeling cooped up shuttling from press conference to press conference. “I was looking forward to getting out there and running around. It was definitely a long couple days not being able to get out there and practice”

The Super Bowl is just days away, and talk seems to have shifted from footballs to the actual game. Ninkovich spoke on the challenges of tackling Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, praising his balance and pad level running ability. Wide receiver Danny Amendola attested to the growing anticipation to Sunday.

“Everybody was juiced up. We’re ready to go”.
