Fashionista Donna Karan Steps Down

Donna Karan is leaving the fashion industry to focus on her Urban Zen line.  It is centered on wellness and artisanal goods.

She is leaving her chief designer position at her self-titled company Donna Karan International.  The main Donna Karan collection has been suspended and will  not be featured in this fall’s New York fashion Week.

Karan will remain an advisor at DKI.  At this time there has been no decision on a replacement designer.

Her designs have influenced working women for decades. Her wallet-friendly brand, DKNY, is known as the money making machine behind her empire.
