Trump and Clinton win big at South Carolina, Nevada

Saturday was a big day for both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, as they walked away from their respective primaries and caucuses with victories.
The Republican front-runner beat out his competitors in South Carolina by at least 10%. While Trump won 32.5% of the vote, Marco Rubio won 22.5% and Ted Cruz won 22.3%.
This significant win has only advanced Trump’s takeover of the Republican party. It is not doubt now that he is the front-runner of the GOP.
Hillary Clinton’s win, however, wasn’t quite as large.
She received 52.6% of the vote, while Sen. Bernie Sanders received 47.3%. This is what the Clinton campaign needed to slow Sanders’ surge after his triumphant New Hampshire victory, according to CNN.
Sanders remained optimistic, though, saying that a few months ago he never would have come within striking distance of there.
In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, he said, “The truth is, that for a campaign that started out as a fringe campaign, we have enormous momentum.”
