Joe Kelly is taking his high energy mentality to the west coast.

The 30-year-old reliever has signed a 3-year, $25 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The deal is a homecoming for him since he grew up in southern California.

Last season Kelly went 4-2 with a 4.39 ERA. He became a Boston legend following his postseason heroics– giving up 1 earned run in over 11 innings of work. Kelly also will be remembered for his fight with Yankee Tyler Austin who charged the mound in April.

Now, the Red Sox will continue to look for bullpen help.

They have been rumored to be interested in former Yankee David Robertson. Robertson has a career ERA under three with 137 saves over 11 seasons. Other names that have been linked to the Red Sox include Adam Ottavino and Joakim Soria. In addition, the bullpen market is deep with Zach Britton and old friend Andrew Miller still on the market. Regardless, the Red Sox will need to make a splash in the free agent market if they look to repeat as World Champions next season.

The Sox aren’t expected to re-sign closer Craig Kimbrel who is looking for a 6-year deal.
