Iconic Chanel fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld died at the age of 85. He passed away at the American Hospital in Paris this morning.
At his latest fashion show in January, he did not go out to take a bow. Instead Virginie Viard, the studio director appeared in his place.
He was the creative director of Chanel since 1983 and over the last few months, he suffered from pancreatic cancer.
Lagerfeld was known for his healthy lifestyle, which included eating right and exercising. When he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer he was surprised by the news.
He was known for pushing the boundaries with fashion and also photographed many of his own campaigns.
