Major Nor’easter Hitting New England This Weekend

By Eva Windler
A major nor’easter, short for a storm across the East Coast of North America, will be hitting the Northeast on Saturday, with heavy snowfall, strong to damaging winds, and coastal flooding all possible.
The heaviest snowfalls are predicted for Saturday, but nasty conditions will continue into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Along with the snow, the storm will bring strong winds and biting cold, which will combine with potentially dangerous wind chills, American meteorologists said. Either way, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be seeing some very low temperatures, with temperatures averaging at around 20 degrees on Saturday.
It’s expected to snow all day Saturday and continue snowing until midnight. The light quality of the snow should limit power outages, but flights to and from Logan Airport will most likely be canceled for Saturday and maybe even Sunday. Winds are expected to be high along the coast, especially in Cape Cod.
Next week, temperatures are forecast to be moderate, so the snow should melt soon enough. Until then, bundle up and stay warm!
