Jury reaches a verdict: Kevin Spacey and Anthony Rapp trial

Jurors at a federal court in New York sided with Kevin Spacey on Thursday after deciding that Anthony Rapp hadn’t proven his allegations.
During the trial, Rapp testified that Spacey climbed on top of him and made a sexual advance. Rapp said he attended a party at Spacey’s Manhattan apartment in 1986, when he was 14. Spacey at the time was 26.
With a lawsuit that sought $40 million in damages, Spacey told the jury no such thing happened. He denied the encounter ever happened. He said he would have never been attracted to a 14 year old.
Rapp, now 50 and Spacey, now 63, each have testified over several delays at the three-week trial.
Rapp’s lawyer, Richard Steigman accused Spacey of lying on the witness stand saying, “he lacks credibility.” Spacey’s attorneys said in a legal filing that Rapp’s “allegations are, quite simply, false and never occurred.”
“What’s next is Mr. Spacey is going to be proven that he’s innocent of anything he’s been accused of. That there was no truth to any of the allegations,” said Spacey’s attorney, Jennifer Keller.
