Overtime is becoming a familiar friend for Boston, as they have endured three straight overtime
games. Despite this, the Bruins we all know, and love are making a reappearance, with their
second straight win after a four game skid.

The somewhat wounded Bruins battled the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place for a much-needed
win. Boston is missing a few key players, including veteran defenseman Hampus Lindholm, who
suffered an injury after an awkward fall in the win against the Dallas Stars. They also had to deal
with a newer injury – Matt Grzelcyk, who was taken out of the game just a minute into it.
Despite the holes in their defense, the Bruins managed to step up and overcome a fiery Oiler’s
offense that boasted Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

Aside from injuries, the win didn’t come easy. The Bruins had a tight hold on the Oiler’s offense
through two periods, leading by as many as three goals at one point. However, with help from
Warren Foegele, Mattias Janmark, and Corey Perry, the Oilers clawed their way back into the
game tying it 4-4 by the midway point of the third period.

David Pastrnak responded to Edmonton’s goal spree with a score of his own, putting the Bruins
up by one with 12:41 left in regulation. However, Zach Hyman followed up with an Oiler’s goal
less than one minute later to tie the game.

At the three minute mark of OT, Charlie McAvoy scored his ninth goal of the season to win the
game for Boston, spoiling the Oilers’ chance of a comeback.

The Bruins are still dealing with various issues surrounding injuries, however, this win is
certainly another morale booster, as they continue their four-game road trip. Boston is staying in
Canada for a little while longer, as they take on the Calgary Flames Thursday night.
