Nikki Haley criticizes Massachusetts’ response to migrant crisis

Presidential candidate Nikki Haley criticized Massachusetts’ response to the ongoing migrant crisis at a campaign event in Needham alongside New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu.
In an interview with NBC-10 Boston, Haley noted that as president, she would create a national E-Verify program requiring businesses to prove that all their employees are in the United States legally. Additionally, Haley plans to defund sanctuary cities and put additional border patrol and ICE agents on the ground in these areas.
Haley criticized Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, saying, “Governors always find a way to get it done. Although, I say that in Massachusetts…I don’t know about this.”
Gov. Sununu also fired back at Gov. Healey Saturday night after she called his decision to send members of the New Hampshire National Guard to the southern border a “misstep.”
Haley further criticized Donald Trump for interfering in bipartisan border negotiations over the past few weeks, and she called on Congress to pass the bill.
“The amount of money Massachusetts is spending to take care of illegal immigrants is the same amount of money they could be doing to take care of their own homeless, to take care of mental health, to take care of the needs of the people of Massachusetts. At some point, this all has to stop.” Haley said.
