Justin Vose, a bus driver for the Newton, Mass. school district, has been charged with three counts of kidnapping-related incidents while on duty.
The 42-year-old Bedford resident allegedly brought three children between the ages of three to five to secluded areas and turned off the audio and video on his bus for at least twenty minutes at a time without authorization.
Shortly after a child was dropped off late at daycare, the Newton Early Childhood Program and the Newton Public Schools notified the Newton Police on May 28.
When the bus company investigated Vose, his bus’s GPS location revealed him entering the parking lot of the intended location, but drove the vehicle into a secluded part of the lot instead of dropping the child off. The investigation also revealed pictures of the children on Vose’s phone.
Vose was indicted by the Middlesex County Grand Jury this week. He’s scheduled to be prosecuted in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn on Oct. 25 at 9:30 a.m.
