Netflix has announced the release of “The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox.” The documentary will chronicle the team’s journey to winning their iconic 2004 World Series.

Produced by Meadowlark Media and Barnicle Brothers, the three-part series will go behind the scenes of the Red Sox three-zero deficit in the ALCS versus longtime rivals, the New York Yankees, and their subsequent sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals to win their first World Series in nearly a century.

The docuseries will also feature interviews with iconic figures from Boston’s legendary playoff run, including David Ortiz, Pedro Martinez, and Kevin Millar. We also get a chance to hear from the former manager Terry Francona and Theo Epstein, former vice president and general manager.

Netflix has also announced their partnership with the MLB to release a second series following the 2024 Boston Red Sox, which will premiere in 2025. It will provide an “unprecedented access to Red Sox players, coaches and executives throughout the 2024 season.”

“The Comeback” is set to it your screens on October 23.
