Political message projected onto Mass. water tower

A political sign saying “Trump 2024” was illegally projected onto a Massachusetts water tower for the second consecutive evening on Saturday.

A resident of High Street was projecting the image from their property onto Hanson’s municipal water tower on Friday, according to authorities.

In response, highway department employees used spotlights to hinder the message. The town is contemplating further action due to the repetitive projection.

In a statement yesterday, town administrator Lisa Green said, “The Town of Hanson respects the free speech rights of all residents, and the right of all residents to express their political views”.

With three weeks until Election Day, the sign is causing major controversy in the town. The town has issued a $100 fine per day to the resident projecting the image onto the water tower.

The collected fine goes towards covering the costs that are being used to cover up the message, however, those fines will not truly cover the whole cost.

According to Green, the town is also moving towards a cease and desist order.
