John Kransinski is People magazine’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive

Newton native, John Krasinski is People magazine’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive. The announcement was made during “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday night. 

“That’s not how I wake up usually thinking,” Krasinski told People magazine of being named the Sexiest Man Alive.

People magazine named Mel Gibson its first Sexiest Man Alive in 1985. The title has been passed on since with it going to Patrick Dempsey last year.

Krasinski is an actor and filmmaker who is popularly known for his role as Jim Halpert on “The Office” and for starring in the franchise of “A Quiet Place.” Other projects Krasinski has worked on include a show called “Jack Ryan,” a web series during the pandemic called “Some Good News,” and a film released this year called “IF.”

Krasinski grew up in the Boston suburb of Newton, Massachusetts. He is married to Emily Blunt who also acts, and they have two daughters together.

“There was a lot of joy involved,” Krasinski additionally told People magazine about the announcement. “I do think it’s going to make me do more chores but I’m willing to take the cons with the pros.”
