Viewers of the NBC show “Today,” can expect change as NBC host and news anchor Craig Melvin is set to replace Hoda Kotb for the 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. hours of the show.

Kotb, who was a co-anchor at the show since 2018 and a member of the NBC channel for more than two decades, announced her departure towards the end of September, saying how turning 60 allowed her to see that a new path in her life unfolds before her and how her family will become a bigger priority for her as she plans to move on.

Melvin, who already is hosting the third hour of the show and is a news anchor during the first two hours, is expected to take Kotb’s place when she will leave the show. This transition is set to occur on Jan. 10. Melvin will also keep his position as a host of the third hour alongside Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer and Sheinelle Jones.

According to an article published by Boston.com, NBC News hasn’t yet revealed who will be replacing Kotb in her other role, which is a co-anchor of the 10 a.m. hour with Jenna Bush Hager.
