NFL Names Officiating Crew for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans

The NFL has selected the officials for Super Bowl LIX, which will take place in New Orleans between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Meet the Referee Crew for Super Bowl LIX:

Ron Torbert – Referee

Ron Torbert joined the NFL as an official in 2010. Over the years, he has built a reputation for calmness, consistency, and clear communication. In 2014, Torbert was promoted to referee, taking on the responsibility of leading crews in high-pressure games. This will be his second Super Bowl appearance; he previously officiated Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams.

Torbert has officiated 13 games involving the Eagles, with Philadelphia holding a 9-4 record under his watch. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are 5-5 in games officiated by Torbert.

Boris Cheek – Side Judge

Boris Cheek began his officiating career in 1999 and has built a reputation for his attention to detail and strong command of the rules. Known for staying composed in critical moments, Cheek recently set an NFL record for the most games officiated, with 461. This will be his fourth Super Bowl, making him one of only three officials to have previously officiated a Super Bowl.

Mike Morton – Umpire

Mike Morton will officiate his first Super Bowl after earning respect for his fairness and precision. A former NFL linebacker and Super Bowl champion with the St. Louis Rams, Morton is praised for his calm demeanor and sharp officiating skills.

Max Causey – Down Judge

Max Causey has earned respect from players, coaches, and colleagues for his accuracy, consistency, and dedication to the job. Known for his focus and quick decision-making, Causey will officiate his first Super Bowl as a down judge.

Mark Stewart – Line Judge

Mark Stewart is in his seventh season as an NFL line judge, known for his judgment, precision, and ability to handle tough calls. Recognized for his consistency in postseason games, Stewart will officiate his first Super Bowl in New Orleans.

Mearl Robinson – Field Judge

Mearl Robinson will serve as the field judge for Super Bowl LIX. Robinson has a deep knowledge of the game and poise under pressure. A former U.S. Air Force training instructor, Robinson is great at communication and professionalism on the field. This will be his first Super Bowl, following several postseason assignments.

Jonah Monroe – Back Judge

Jonah Monroe began his NFL officiating career in 2015 as a side judge. He transitioned to back judge in 2023 and will officiate his first Super Bowl this year. Known for his composure and fairness, Monroe is regarded as one of the league’s top officials.

Kevin Brown – Replay Official

Veteran replay official Kevin Brown will oversee the review of crucial plays during Super Bowl LIX. Brown has remained composed under pressure in numerous high-stakes games, including playoffs and previous Super Bowls.
