The MSPCA-Angell, an animal medical center, made an announcement yesterday that nine dogs impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires are on their way to Massachusetts. Transported on a flight arranged by Best Friends Animal Society, the dogs are coming from the Pasadena Humane Society and are set to stay at the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, according to Boston.com.
The animals were expected to arrive in Salem late yesterday, with dog ages ranging from one to 10-years-old. The dogs include hounds, German shepherds, pit bulls, and cattle dogs, according to Western Mass News.
After a 48-hour state-mandated quarantine and the receiving of any care needed, the dogs will be available for adoption.
