On Wednesday, President Donald Trump will sign an executive order that will prevent Transgender Women from participating in all women’s sporting events. This will mark an aggressive shift by President Trump’s second administration.

This follows after Trump put out a sweeping order on his first day in office for the federal government in official documents such as passports and in policies like federal prison assignments to qualify sex as only male or female

Trump’s pledge during his campaign was to “keep men out of women’s sports.” Also, pledging to get rid of “transgender insanity.” More than half of the voters surveyed by AP VoteCast said support for transgender rights in government and society has gone too far.

Wednesday is also National Girls and Women in Sports Day. This order will represent how Trump’s administration will interpret Title IX, which is a law that is known for pursuing gender equity in athletics and preventing sexual harassment on campuses.
