Just shy of a month away from the highly anticipated South by Southwest festival, an opening keynote speaker is revealed.

Anne-Laure Le Cunff is a neuroscientist and founder of Ness Labs, and will be opening the EDU 2025 portion of the festival as keynote speaker. This event will occur simultaneous to the release of her coming book, Tiny Experiments: How to Live Freely in a Goal-Obsessed World

Titled Rewiring How We Learn: The Power of an Experimental Mindset, Cunff’s keynote speech will dive into the complexities of the human brain, and how to harness the power of curiosity and confidence in learning. Her keynote will share the latest research on mental health and brain science in educational spaces, and how to fight anxiety in academia.

According to the official SXSW schedule, attendees can plan to  “discover how to leverage neuroscience to transform the way we teach and learn, gain practical tools for developing an experimental mindset that benefits all brains, and walk away with actionable insights to enhance both your teaching practice and your own lifelong learning journey.”

She will be in conversation with Vanessa Van Edwards, bestselling author and founder, The Science of People.

Cunff has experience working in Google, L’Oreal, and The Guardian. She is best known for her entrepreneurial work, namely Ness Labs, a “playground for curiosity” as described on their website
