In conjunction with larger layoffs planned, CVS will lay off over 180 remote employees who report to the office in Wellesley. Effective May 3, 180 out of state remote workers and 3 Massachusetts residents will be out of a job, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act notice.

In September, CVS Health announced it would cut 2,900 jobs focused on corporate positions as part of a $2 billion cost-cutting plan aimed at improving the company’s financial performance.

“We remain committed to supporting these colleagues, who will receive severance pay and benefits, including access to outplacement services,” CVS Health spokesperson Ethan Slavin said to Boston.com.
