Trump accuses Ted Cruz of fraud after Iowa

Donald_Trump_by_Gage_SkidmoreDonald Trump is calling foul on Ted Cruz. Trump, after losing Monday night’s caucus 24 percent to 28 percent, tweeted, “Ted Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he illegally stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong and why he got more votes than anticipated. Bad!”

Trump is referring to the controversy surrounding the Texas Senator’s decision to mail voter violation certificates to Iowa citizens, grading them on an A to F scale based on their caucus attendance. Trump is also calling out Cruz for contributing to rumors that started the night of the caucus, incorrectly stating candidate Ben Carson would be suspending his campaign after Iowa.

Cruz’s campaign staff sent out emails to voters the night of the caucus, suggesting that Carson was dropping out of the race. The rumors started after CNN correspondent Chris Moody, told viewers that Carson, instead of campaigning in New Hampshire after Iowa, would take to Florida.

“During primetime of the Iowa Caucus, Cruz put out a release that @RealBenCarson was quitting the race, and to caucus (or vote) for Cruz.”, Trump Tweeted.

Cruz told reporters Wednesday that his staff just “passed on a CNN news story that CNN broke.” The Cruz campaign still apologized to Carson on Tuesday, who accepted the apology after accusing them Monday night of using “dirty tricks”.
