Cruz, Sanders take Oklahoma
By Catherine Casey 3/1/2016
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and Texas Senator Ted Cruz both got their second primary wins on Super Tuesday night in Oklahoma.
Right now Cruz has thirty-five percent of the vote.
Donald Trump came in second with thirty percent, followed by Florida Senator Marco Rubio with twenty-four percent, Dr. Ben Carson with seven percent, and Ohio Governor John Kasich with four percent.
Cruz had appealed to the state’s large conservative Christian population.
Bernie Sanders is projected to win with fifty-two percent of the vote.
Hillary Clinton won Oklahoma while running against then-senator Barack Obama back in 2008.
Tonight she came in with forty percent of the vote.
