57th Head of the Charles Regatta attracts thousands

The largest rowing competition in the world, the Head of the Charles Regatta, fell from Friday to Sunday this past weekend. This year’s event was record-breaking in the number of competitors, with 27 countries represented.
11,000 rowers competed, ranging from high schoolers all the way to athletes in their 80s. They are cheered on by hundreds of thousands of fans who come from near and far for the three-day event. Spectators included those coming in support of friends and family, past competitors, and those looking to enjoy the fall weather.
Many teams returned to the competition for the first time since the pandemic hit, making this year’s regatta one of great anticipation and enthusiasm.
