Patriots win amidst a subpar performance by New York Jets

11/3/22 by Justin Fields
The Patriots took another big win in New York from a hot Jets team Sunday with a final score of 22-17. New England continues to dominate the Jets as they win their 13th game in a row against New York. This win also marks Bill Belichick passing George Hala for second place on the NFL’s all-time victory list. Patriots quarterback Mac Jones was back starting for New England after he was benched in the second half of last week’s performance against the Chicago Bears. Jones bounced back throwing 24/35 with 194 yards and 1 touchdown. Rhamondre Stevenson also stepped up for the pats leading the way on the offensive side with 16 carries, 7 receptions, and 143 total yards.
After a low scoring first half 10-6, the Patriots came out hot to start off the second half with a quick touchdown score to Jakobi Meyers to take the lead 13-10. Shortly after, the Pats take advantage of a New York missed field goal attempt and knock through a 49 yard field goal of their own to extend the lead to six with five minutes remaining in the third quarter.
After two late game interceptions thrown by Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, the Patriots already commanded a 22-10 victory. “I had some boneheaded plays,” Wilson stated after the game. Metlife filled with boos for the home team after a terrible performance following a four-game win streak.
Former New York Jet, Nick Folk tallied 15 points for New England to lead the offense. Zach Wilson leads the way for the New York Jets, throwing for 355 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tyler Conklin also pitches in for the New York offense with 6 receptions for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns.
