Tropical Storm Ophelia brings heavy rain and wind to Massachusetts this weekend

This weekend, the newly named “Tropical Storm Ophelia” will deliver rain to Massachusetts. According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Ophelia has developed off the coast of the mid-Atlantic and is predicted to bring rain, storm, and windy weather to some areas of the east coast this weekend.
At 2.00 p.m on Friday, the National Weather Service announced and updated its forecast for Ophelia. According to Boston 25 News meteorologist Shiri Spear, New England won’t experience tropical storm conditions, but there will be constant rain towards the weekend.
The maximum sustained winds have climbed to 60 mph with stronger gusts. The National Weather Service predicts that the tropical storm will land in North Carolina as it moves at a speed of 12 mph towards the north.
