First dry weekend in 55 Weeks in New England

10/14/23 By Madison Lucchesi

Finally, a dry weekend in New England! It has been 55 weeks since New England has seen a rainless weekend. New Englanders have long awaited this dry weekend.

Temperatures across the region dipped into the upper 30s and lower 40s this morning. Saturday will start off sunny and end with clouds. The South Coast, Cape and Islands may experience some rain Saturday night, but no more than half an inch.

Both Saturday and Sunday temperatures will rise into the 60s. Sunday will bring more wind. The air will stay dry, leaving no rain throughout New England on Sunday.

With the sunshine, many New Englanders plan to get outside, and farms anticipate a busy weekend. This weekend could be the best for leaf-peeping in south and central New England, according to WBZ meteorologists. Enjoy the dryness while it lasts because rain is likely to return on Monday morning
