New Hampshire Governor Sununu Will Endorse Chosen Republican Presidential Nominee

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu said he will endorse whoever the Republican nominee ends up being in the race for the presidency.
“I’m going to restore the Republican nominee whoever it is, but at the end of the day, I’m feeling more and more confident in someone like Nikki Haley,” Sununu said to WEBN reporters at the New England College Convention.
Sununu endorsed Nikki Haley during a campaign stop in Manchester last month. According to AP News, Haley called Sununu’s support “about as rock solid as an endorsement as we could hope for.”
Former President Donald Trump is currently leading in the polls. In a recent Suffolk University poll conducted from December 23 to 26, Trump polled at 62% amongst other Republican candidates. Haley came in second with 13% of the vote.
“I’m working really hard to make sure Nikki Haley is the candidate and that we don’t have Trump on the ballot. Most Republicans don’t want Trump on the ballot, and most Democrats don’t want Biden on the ballot,” Sununu said.
After much public speculation, Sununu confirmed he would not run for the republican nomination in a June op-ed for The Washington Post. Sununu, a Trump supporter-turned-opponent, has been a strong advocate for candidates who want to beat the former president.
