Dorchester experiences uptick in package theft

The Boston Police Department is investigating a series of package thefts in Dorchester. 

Ally Burchill, a resident of Dix Street in Dorchester, shared a video of two men stealing a package off her porch. The video shows the thieves scope out the porch and then take five packages. The two thieves also had a shopping cart full of other packages. 

Burchill said this isn’t the first incident of package theft in her neighborhood. 

“It was bold. The time of day they did it,” Burchill said. The thieves stole her package, containing new shoes for her son, during the day on Wednesday. 

Burchill filed a police report on Friday and plans on sending her packages elsewhere until the thieves are caught.
