Salem, Massachusetts is seeing hundreds of costumed people, with 25 days to go until Halloween.

Approximately 1.2 million people were in the city last October, and this year, the Salem mayor expects that number to be even bigger. Already, they have seen “a record number for October just give the treds we’ve been seeing over the last couple of weeks”, said the Salem mayor.

Salem has a lot to offer, according to Emma Alonso, a 7-year-old New Jersey resident, who enjoys costumes, balloons, and ice cream in Salem. There are even performers to enjoy in the city.

One performer said not to treat Salem like “Disney” but it does “feel like Disney”.

Officials are urging the public to take public transportation into the city with the current parking situation. On Halloween, trains will be running every 30 minutes.
