Patriots’ safety and team captain, Jabrill Peppers was arrested Saturday on charges related to a domestic violence incident, including assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, cocaine possession, and more. The veteran defensive back did not play in the Pats’ Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins after initially being listed as questionable.

Following the announcement of his arrest, the league announced Peppers’ placement on the NFL commissioner’s exempt list, meaning he is prohibited from attending any game or practices as his legal process unfolds.

Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo spoke to the allegations against his veteran defensive back, Mayo puts his full support behind the organization as the potential for retribution against Peppers plays out.

Peppers has seemingly maintained his innocence, with his attorney claiming the court evidence “sheds real doubt” on any allegations against his client. The twenty-nine-year-old was arraigned on Monday in Quincy and pled not guilty to all charges.

Peppers next court date is scheduled for November 22, though he has waived his right to appear in court.
