Parts of Massachusetts are to expect up to 6 inches of snow

Half a foot of snowfall is expected to hit parts of Massachusetts during a midweek storm. Meteorologist Shiri Spear said in her latest forecast that chilly weather and sunny skies are forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday, however, clouds will build on Wednesday getting ready for a storm.
Spear explained that precipitation will fall late this Wednesday evening, including rain on the coast and snow hitting inland, continuing until Thursday morning. “The bulk of our rain and snow is going to fall overnight into Thursday morning.” Spear said, “During the afternoon hours, things are going to turn patchier. What we’re left with is the potential for snow and rain squalls into the afternoon.”
North and west of Route 128/Interstate 95 there is expected to be up to 3 inches of snow to coat the ground. However, the highest snow totals are expected to be at the elevations that are northwest of Worcester and points in western Massachusetts expecting up to 6 inches of snow.
While communities that are by the coast will see a mixture of snow and rain, sticking overall is unlikely due to temperatures staying above freezing. However, Boston has a chance of a slight coating.
