Josh Allen wins NFL MVP award

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been awarded Most Valuable Player of the Year, becoming the first Bills quarterback ever to receive the honor. The feat didn’t come easily, however, as the 28-year-old QB had some tough competition against Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. This was the closest MVP competition since Matt Ryan beat Tom Brady by 15 votes in 2016. Jackson received 23 first-place votes, while Allen received 27.
“I was pretty surprised…Lamar was very deserving of this award as well, and I have nothing but love and respect for him and his game,” Allen said.
Football fans wrote of Allen as MVP after wide receiver Stefon Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans. In what seemed to be an offensive rebuild, Allen and company had no problems making it to the AFC championship. The team atmosphere and community around Allen helped him thrive throughout the season.
“Those are my brothers, those are my family. We have so much fun in the locker room; we joke around a lot, but when it’s time to get to business, we get to business,” stated the QB.
While the Bills fell short of the Super Bowl this season, they will look to have a strong push in the fall with their MVP quarterback under center.
