Eleven different Boston area schools staged standouts to fight for equal and fair education.

Educators in the greater Boston area are looking towards the city to deliver education related changes. The standouts being performed are an act to call on the city to make advancements towards guaranteeing higher quality education for all Boston students.

These education standouts are led by the Boston Teacher Union. The union is pushing for better pay, better working conditions, and more support for students, especially special education and ESL students.

In a statement released onto their website Thursday, the BTU stated that they are “nearing agreements on coordinators of special education, transparency around work hours, rate of pay, and working conditions in autonomous schools.”

The Boston educator walkouts took place at 11 different greater and central Boston schools including in West Roxbury, Mattapan, and Charleston. While negotiations seem to be closing in on deals, educators will continue to fight through the BTU for their rights and the rights of their students.
