Hollywood Celebrates Excellence at the 2025 SAG Awards

The 2025 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards honored the best performances insion on Sunday film and televi. The star-studded event, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, saw some of Hollywood’s biggest names take home prestigious awards, solidifying their positions in the race toward the Academy Awards.
“Conclave” took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, further cementing its status as an awards season favorite. Timothée Chalamet won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown.” In contrast, Demi Moore won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for “The Substance.”
Kieran Culkin (“A Real Pain”) and Zoe Saldaña (“Emilia Pérez”) were recognized in the supporting categories.
“Shōgun” won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, with Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai earning individual awards. “Only Murders in the Building” won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and Martin Short was also honored.
Colin Farrell (“The Penguin”) and Jessica Gunning (“Baby Reindeer”) won for Outstanding Performance in a Television Movie or Limited Series.
But the highlight of the evening was Jane Fonda receiving the SAG Life Achievement Award for her decades of contributions to film, television, and activism. The 86-year-old icon delivered a powerful speech that resonated deeply with the audience, reflecting on her career, the responsibilities of actors, and the importance of using their platform for meaningful change.
Fonda spoke passionately about the evolving industry, sharing anecdotes from her early career and the challenges she faced as a woman in Hollywood. She emphasized the role of storytelling in shaping public perception and called on her peers to champion diversity, as she concluded her speech, Fonda left the audience with a poignant message.
“We have the power to change the world—if we choose to use our voices wisely,” she said.
The standing ovation she received underscored the profound influence she has had on both the entertainment industry and social movements.
The ceremony was filled with emotional speeches, heartfelt tributes, and moments of camaraderie among Hollywood’s finest. With Conclave, Shōgun, and Only Murders in the Building taking top honors, the anticipation for the upcoming Academy Awards is higher than ever.
