Brady’s Last Second TD Seals Pats Comeback

Tom Brady did it again.

It was a familiar situation for Brady and the Patriots. There was two minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Pats were down by four points, and had already used all its timeouts. That set the stage for a dramatic eight-play game-winning drive against the New Orleans Saints.

Five seconds was left on the clock when Brady threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Kenbrell Thompkins for the game winning drive. It was Brady’s 38th career game-winning drive for the 5-1 Patriots, who solidified its status atop the AFC East division. Brady threw for 269 yards in the game while counterpart Drew Brees threw for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Despite the win, the Patriots suffered a few key injuries including wide receiver Danny Amendola who injured his head on a jarring hit from Saints cornerback Jabari Greer late in the third quarter. Veteran Austin Collie who was signed last week replaced Amendola and caught two passes for 24 yards in his Patriot’ debut. Patriots’ cornerback Aqib Talib also left the game in the third quarter with a hip injury and didn’t return.

The Patriots’ next matchup is Sunday against division rival New York Jets at Metlife Stadium.
